"The online reservation piece doesn't work well. I live 20 minutes away and it recommended I arrive in 1 minute. This probably needs to be an Open Table sort of experience where you can pick a slot time. I know you don't favor the appointment model but I myself have turned around about half the time as the wait was too long. Staffing levels fluctuate wildly because customer traffic is variable. Appointment times for, lets say, not more than half a stylists' time, would help moderate customer load and reduce wait times. I imagine you look at the effect of appointments like a restaurant does. That is to say, allowing no reservations yields a higher turnover of tables. The difference between that model and yours is that customers at a restaurant cluster around mealtimes. For you, a reservation system can help fill slack times."
